From 1 January 2021 we will be charging a flat fee of £60 for a medical records check and report. Your shooting club or organisation may provide a discount code, please check with them for details.
This depends on your licensing authority. Normally it is up to three months before your renewal date, or earlier if you have explicit permission from your firearms officer. We recommend applying a minimum of two months before your renewal.
You can check on your force’s requirements on their individual websites. Regions in which a medical check is required in all cases are (as of time of writing):
BEDFORDSHIRE | CAMBRIDGESHIRE | CHESHIRE | DERBYSHIRE | ESSEX | GLOUCESTERSHIRE | GREATER MANCHESTER | GWENT | HERTFORDSHIRE | KENT | LANCASHIRE | LEICESTERSHIRE | LINCOLNSHIRE | MERSEYSIDE | NOTTINGHAMSHIRE | SURREY | SUSSEX | THAMES VALLEY
Many forces require you to submit your report as part of your application paperwork. Your confirmation email will contain details of how to proceed in your area.
